Antique Purse / Hallmarked 800 silver / CHERUB Snake frame / SIGNED Victorian handbag / black silk with mirror

This fully lined hallmarked 800 silver purse is so exotic that it really looks like it came out of a museum. There are two cherubs on each side and above them are two snake heads that are the clasps to this amazing antique purse. The handles are dragons and they hold an 18" silver chain. There are two birds on each side which were a common symbol in Victorian pieces.Inside it is fully lined with silk and has its original mirror ( which is in poor condition ) . The material for the purse has silken stripes incorporated into it. The purse is 11" x 10" and heavy and REALLY well made. The hallmarks are in my photos and you can see the 800 mark for the silver. This is one of the most elaborate purses as far as the frame that I have seen and it is even more impressive in person. The material has not aged and is not damaged so I think it has been well cared for and preserved. Sadly the metal near the hinge has come loose ( could be resoldered) .
