This is a top quality vintage/antique sledge/hammer with one end tipped with a copper face insert (a softer material to avoid dinging the surface struck).  The other side is an eight sided cast steel sledge that is about 2.0" diameter.  It's been awhile since I have seen one of these soft face sledge hammers, they are really handy for certain applications!  This one is not marked by it's maker. The total weight of the handle and hammer is 6 lbs.  The handle has a few saw cut marks near the end noted, otherwise very good condition, 15" long overall.  As you can see there is no rust but that are plenty of dings on the steel.  But it still has much of it's original form.  A rare tool, no doubt.
