Hand Auger Drill 2.10 inch T-Handle Type

$52.00
Quantity available: 1

This is a nice 2.10 inch auger bit with a maker's mark on it M C W .  This very early sand cast spiral auger bit is in good+ condition.  The auger is a Snell Patern double cutting edge and double spur sharp enough to use with a good thread lead screw.  This auger was most likely made to fit into some sort of a drilling machine, most likely a hand powered machine of sorts.  The end that would fit the machine or the T-handle is about .30 x .70 inch.  There is a few casting original imperfections like minor voids in the main shaft diameter, or minor pitting or casting voids in the spiral, but not an issue since this is not near the cutting edges.   This auger appears original, over 100 years since it was made.  The hardwood has some wood grain separations but very sturdy, over 1.5 inch in diameter.  The auger is 22.4 inch long and will make a 2.10 inch diameter hole in wood.
