So very quaint hand painted salt box.  It is signed on the lid by the artist who painted it too!   This is a vintage wall mount wooden box with wavy edge work and hinged hid on the top.   It measures 5.5" wide and 4.5" deep x 6.5" tall.  

In excellent vintage condition.  It is perfect for giving the kitchen a county feel.   There are many uses for this item other then salt such a matches, keys, trinkets or candy.
