Our patinated metal vase in the Art Nouveau style by Hippolyte Francois Moreau (1832-1927) measures 34.5 by 13 inches.
Condition is good. There are a few areas of chip losses to the patina as seen in our closeups, plus rubbing wear, scratches and nicks, all consistent with age.
The son of the renowned sculptor Jean-Baptiste Moreau, he studied in Paris under François Jouffroy. From 1863 to 1914 the artist regularly exhibited at the Paris Salon. He won awards for his sculpture at the Universal Expositions in 1878 and 1900.
