This amazing and HUGE statement necklace holds a 4 1/4" heavy and thick Maltese style layered cross with genuine turquoise and semiprecious stones. Symbolically, a Dorje represents the 'thunderbolt of enlightenment', that abrupt change in human consciousness which is recognized by all the great religions as a pivotal episode in the lives of mystics and saints. Dorje is an inseparable ritual objects in Tibetan Buddhism., It is always used in combination during religious ceremonies. It is a very important symbol of Buddhism - a symbol of protection.
This is a FINE ANTIQUE sterling gemstone cross that is not only HUGE ( 4 1/2" WIDE ) but also completely dimensional and over 2" THICK. The beads are faux spider turquoise and are HAND knotted and measure 22" around the neck ( not counting the pendant) This is NOT a new piece and it is EVEN MORE IMPRESSIVE in person so be sure you click on the photos to get a good look at this from the side and next to a DIME to get an idea of just how big this is. I think the necklace was restrung at some point so I can't say for sure if the beads are original, but they look like they are a perfect match. We don’t polish these previously owned well loved pieces so we can keep the original patina. We try and photograph all of the pieces next to a ruler so you can see the actual size. We use the descriptions of any stones from the manufacturers titles when they were first produced. When we refer to the stones, we are using how the original manufacturer of the pieces used them. We cannot guarantee the authenticity of a stone in a costume piece of jewelry. All pieces have been worn at least one time unless otherwise specified.  Although the pieces we carry are unique and interesting they may have a little wear ( if any) but they sure have a lot of love that came with them when they were first purchased way back when.
