Huge Renaissance Man Necklace signed with thick baroque chain

 

I believe this is an Alva Museum Replica of a portrait called "Portrait Of A Young Man" by Baldassare Estense, an Italian painter (1443-1504). You can google the portrait and see if you see the similarities.  This is a THICK heavy and huge pendant of base metal with a 14kt rose gold overlay. It measures a whopping 2 3/4" long and is solid. The triple link chain is original to it ( late 1950's) and it measures 18" long. This is signed Alva Museum Replica on the bottom and is one of their earlier pieces. THe quality on Alva pieces is very very good and they keep their beautiful gold coloring for years without even tarrnishing. You can tell they spared no expense then casting these. This is a great piece that would work well in renaissance and medieval revivals.
