Hukin and Heath Silver Plate Japanesque covered cauldron Bowl, C.1885. Probably a Christopher Dresser design. Dresser's admiration of Japanese design is reflected in this piece, the straight handles, and Japanesque decorative engravings. The cover engraved with a japanesque foliate design, two upright open riveted handles, with curved riveted central handle. The bowl itself of plain tapered panelled form, underside with marks for Hukin and Heath. Measures: Approximately 6.00 x 5.50 x 2.50 inches.
