Wonderful 8" x 8" portrait tile of a renaissance man in Dutch costume by J & JG Low of Chelsea, MA, c. 1881. The tile is in very good condition with minor edge nicks as shown and light surface wear (at top of ear and very tip of brim of hat). The glaze has pooled and crystalized in the lower areas of the tile (above and below the hat) but the surface is smooth.
