Our Meiji period Japanese bronze figure depicts a miner carrying pick axe, shovels and ropes.  Measures 31 by 16 by 9 inches and is signed along the face of the base.  Signed Yamazaki Wanami Koku (family name, first name and "sculpted") and Yamafuse (area) Gyochu ("casting").

In good condition, with some rubbing wear to the patina, scratches, nicks and areas of staining.  Cast in multiple sections, and structurally sound.  Some of the ropes are a little loose.
