Joseph one of the nativity members, candy?? This is one of those items that I am unfamiliar with. It feels like a paper mache or light ceramic/plaster, but it has the bottom covered with a piece of paper like the old candy holders. I didn't open it, in case the new lucky owner would like to do it, or just leave it sealed. There may be nothing inside. It is old & very well made. 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 aprox. size. Mint condition
