The Castle of Mey (formerly Barrogill Castle) is located in Caithness, on the north coast of Scotland, about 6 miles (9.7 km) west of John o' Groats. In fine weather there are views from the castle north to the Orkney Islands. The castle was in a semi-derelict state when, in 1952, it and its policies (attached lands) were purchased by Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, the widow of King George VI who had died earlier in the year. The Queen Mother set about restoring the castle for use as a holiday home, removing some of the 19th-century additions, and reinstating the Castle's original name. So be it your loved ones initials or your ties to Scotland these wonderful cufflinks and tie clip would make a perfect gift! Krementz cufflinks an d tie clip vintage patented business wedding anniversary. This vintage pair of elegantly designed jeweled ends cufflinks is made by Krementz and patented would be perfect for most any occasion. Krementz jewelry story began in the 1860’s, when George Krementz founded his company in Newark, New Jersey. Their original intent was to create men’s jewelry, such as collar buttons and cuff links. In 1886, they turned to the use of gold overlay to create their jewelry. They used rolled gold plate to create a high quality jewelry that was, although technically costume jewelry, by no means cheap. According to Krementz jewelry advertisements of the time, they used gold 30 times as thick as that used in the production of most costume jewelry. The intention was to create a high quality line of jewelry to be sold in department stores. By the 1930’s Krementz jewelry is being sold internationally. A salesman would take a yearly trip to many exotic destinations to sell the jewelry in countries such as India. These have been personalized with the letters MEY on them. They are in very good condition and would be so nice as a gift or to wear on that special occasion including a night out on the town. They are light weight, very good quality and well made. Perfect for a wedding or anniversary or a gift to a friend or boss. Add that perfect touch of vintage to a classic suit or tux.
