Lakeside Ratchet Bit Brace 12 Inch Cocobolo

This is a super nice 12" swing brace with nice solid Lakeside Ratchet Bit Brace 12 Inch Cocobolo handles, and the adjustable ratchet system! (The swing of the brace is measure by multipling the distance between the chuck and swing handle centerline times two, or the full diamter of the swing). It is marked "LAKESIDE MADE IN U.S.A." on the steel arms. Montgomery Wards used the LAKESIDE trade name on their tools, but this tool is believed to be made by Stanley, model No. 923-12, and has the alligator type jaws in the chuck in good condition. It retains about 40% of the original nickel plating, some staining, a few small areas of pitting noted. The chuck works very smoothly, some wear on the knurling area of the chuck sleeve as noted in the pictures! The jaws are in good shape also. The cocobolo has very little wear, a few minor dings here and there, both very sold, smooth turning! The head handle is ball bearing. The ratchet system works great! A very nice 12" swing, cocobolo handled auger bit brace!
