Lapis Lazuli and Gilt Bronze Center Table After Francesco Righetti
Our client's wonderful gilt bronze table with lapis lazuli stone top and agate stone along the frieze is a masterful copy of the original design by Francesco Righetti of Rome, circa 1775, and dates from the early to mid 20th century. 34 by 32 by 23 inches.
The design is distinguished by the dramatic uprights in the form of male herms, two bearded and two without, flanked by twinned female caryatids with each frieze centered by cornucopia filled with fruits and flowers, the legs ending in hoof feet, with beaded border to the lapis stone top.
In good condition, with scuffs and scratches, areas of verdigris, and some cracks to the agate on the frieze.
