Large Antique English Majolica Bird Tile - Campbell Brick & Tile

$275.00
Quantity available: 1
Fantastic 8" majolica tile in seven strong enameled colors from The Campbell Brick and Tile Co., c. 1875, depicting a bird on a flowering blackberry branch on a brilliant turquoise field. The tile has one surface rub that I can find to the stem of the leaf to the left of the bird's beak. The tile is in excellent original condition but only good condition generally as a notch was cut at top as well as the back of the tile shaped for the tile's original fitting. The tile comes in a frame which I find unsuitable, but I have included it in the photos to show how the notched spot at the top may be disguised with a better frame. It is a fantastic piece of majolica tile work overall and I have more photos to send if you would like to examine them. Please write with any questions you may have.
