This Art Deco period armoire features a fabulous facade of burl walnut and amboyna with ebony inlay, plus an interior crafted from solid mahogany. It measures an impressive 83" (6' 11") tall, 71" (5' 11") wide and 21.5" deep. This armoire dates from the 1930s or 1940s and is likely of Brisith (English) origin. There are no identifying hallmarks. Two doors open to reveal a cabinet interior with adjustable shelves and a large lower drawer. This storage area measures 66" high, 46" wide and 17.75" deep. the right side door opens to reveal an original mirror and an interior fitted with drawers and shelves. A couple of the door hinges are loose and may be repaired prior to shipment. There is no key. The shelves on the left-side cabinet are not original and portions of the rear panel have been cut out to accomodate use of a television and stereo. The overall condition is excellent. There are no deep scratches, deep dents or dings. There is some noticeable wear to the cabriole legs, consistent with age. This item resides in our client's home on the Upper East Side of Manhattan ( New York City ) and may be seen by appointment.
