Alf Landon 1936 campaign poster
Unavailable
Former governor of Kansas and Republican nominee for president in 1936, Alf Landon lost that campaign against a very popular incumbent president, Franklin D. Roosevelt. The one criticism was that Landon never actively campaigned between nomination and election, his campaign material had to speak for him. This poster was one of those that reads, "From A Typical Prairie State, Alf M. Landon of Kansas, Republican Nominee for President" with a sepia-toned image of the candidate.
