This delightful carved wooden statue of a faun from Heifetz dates from the 1950s or 1960s. Measures:  19 x 4.25 x 4.15 in. Heifetz was known primarily for their abstract and figurative lighting crafted from a variety of materials, including ceramics and carved wood. The influential design team of A.W. and Marion Geller created lighting designs for the firm.  They also produced decorative sculpture such as this figurine which are more rare and highly collectible today. Distinguished by their horns, human upper body and legs and hooves of a goat, fauns are the place spirits of the untamed woodlands in Roman mythology. They were associated with satyrs, the wild and drunken followers of Bacchus. ( Bacchanalian )
