Limoges Enameled Copper and Gilt Bronze Perfume Casket

Unavailable

Our lovely French enameled copper and gilt bronze fragrance casket, no doubt from Limoges, dates from the 19th century and features gilt bronze mounts and interior with six perfume bottles with stoppers.  The lid features a scene depicting gentlemen travelers apparently conducting a trade, or possibly representing the return of a prodigal son.  The front depicts angels beside a blue family crest with fleur-de-lis, and rear features the profile of a distinguished woman representing the family matriarch.

In good condition, with rubbing wear to the gilding and scratches, and small losse at one lower corner.
