This fine nineteenth century landscape engraving depicts the River Dee at Llangellen with the medieval Llangellen Bridge in the distance. The details are impressive and the overall condition is good, with a small tear at one corner (not impacting the image) and visible moisture stains. FFrame measures 24.5" by 19.5" x 3", and the image measures 17.5" by 12.5". There are obvious losses to the gesso in the lower left corner. Old glued newsprint (believed to describe commercial shipping routes in the Long Island Sound) once held the painting in place. The gilded wooden and gesso frame is from the period of the print, and was recently regilded.
