Our commode in the Louis XV style, featuring fine floral marquetry inlay and figural and foliate gilt bronze mounts, was produced in France and imported to the U.S. in the late nineteenth century by R.J. Horner and Co. as indicated by the original paper label on rear.
The firm was established by Robert J. Horner in 1886 at 61, 63, 65 West 23rd Street in New York City, and produced and imported fine furniture contemporary and antique styles.
