Or Best OfferThis antique demilune cabinet in the French Louis XVI style has a warm, reddish brown patina, and is crafted from mahogany with rosewood or kingwood. It features a rouge marble top, crosshatch parquetry inlay, and neoclassical gilt bronze mounts including lion and goddess masks, rosettes, reed-and-tie molding, and shell and scrolling foliate motifs. It measures 46" wide, 50.25" tall and 18" deep. Interior measures 40.5" wide and 30" high, and is fitted with notched sides to accomodate two, original adjustable shelves. this cabinet dates from circa 1900. The rear panel is pierced with a handful of holes created to accomodate television and stereo cords. Each panel has a handful or more noticeable scuffs and chips to the parquetry, and the side panels appear to have been relacquered because these damages are not noticeable by touch. Each center door has a single stress crack. There are other minor chips here and there, and the gilt bronze molding on the left corner has separated from the frame. Our client has professional restorers on site, and we will be glad to repair all chips and mounts prior to shipment.
