A massive ancient bronze sword 2nd millennium B.C. North-Western Asiatic-Caspian Sea area
This very fine bronze sword was cast using the lost wax process. All details were hand-finished, and the edges were hand-sharpened.
The sword features a double-edged wide tapering sharp blade with a diamond section and a slightly raised midrib ridge.
The robust hilt comprises a grip with a ribbed middle section flanked on each side by two cut-in-open work triangular holes with a solid bar-shaped rectangular cross guard of ellipse section, surmounted by a large, hallowed crescent-shaped pommel incised with horizontal lines.
