This is a good old 8" swing ratchet brace marked "NO. 333" on the steel frame arm. It is much like the NO. 323" model, but has the steel clad ball bearing head handle like the No. 1323 model. It was made around 1925, and it has the spring-type toothless alligator jaws. It features the cocobolo handles, in good solid shape, the head handle has some very minor dings and the cocobolo apears lighter in color than the throw handle, otherwise, both handles are in very nice solid condition overall with a smooth natural, polished finish on them. The ratchet system works well, and the chuck and jaws are in good condition. We did inspect the alligator jaws, they have a good spring, holds just fine. The metal is clean and shiney, showing some use and age wear, but just a few minor nicks, a few small areas of minor pitting, the chuck sleeve has the most wear, works fine, Good+ overall. The end handle turns very smoothly, the ball bearing type drive on it. Overall, very clean, some minor pitting, no rust or cracks, good chuck. The hard to find short swing brace!
