Our monumental pair of Italian Venetian campana form floor vases feature extraordinary surfaces of beaded and faceted crystal, and mirrored glass, in various shapes and sizes, and is one of two similar pairs we have for sale.  Each 63 by 34 inches, with internal sockets of European standard that light the vases from within.

Provenance:  The Jeweler’s Eye: The Personal Collection Of Fred Leighton, Sotheby's, New York, April 18, 2018, lot 231, $125,000.

Known for decades as the King of Estate Jewelry, Mr. Leighton is best known for dressing Hollywood's elite on the red carpet, but he amassed an extraordinary collection of artwork and antiques over five decades. His sale generated $2.8 million in sales.

Each in good condition with scattered small losses to the beaded borders, slight bends and lifting in spots.  One base lacking mirrored glass panel about 3 1/2 by 1/2 inch, and one glass panel with crack about 4 inches in length. One urn base with a broken glass plaque in the back about 2 by 3 in, and three other cracks about 1/2 inch in size, only visible upon close inspection.

For other examples of this model, see lot 401 of Sotheby's sale in New York on December 8, 2011 containing a pair which closed at $152,500, and lot 94 of Christie's sale in London on March 6, 2014 which closed at 98,500 GBP ($164,909).
