This is a very nice 26" long blade, 5-1/2 point rip hand-saw with the thumb-hole type handle. It is marked, "HENRY DISSTON & SONS D-8 (hanging scale logo) PHILADELPHIA U.S.A. REG. U.S. PAT OFF M. IND RGTRANDA FOR BEAUTY FINISH HAND UTILITY THIS SAW CANNOT BE EXCELLED HENRY DISSTON (signature in writing script, very faint is the etch, but can be seen in the right light).  Also marked "5 1/2" just below the handle on the steel "DISSTON & SONS *PHILADA*" on the brass medallion on the handle. Nice clean applewood handle with some wear, solid, not cracked, not chipped, just a few minor scratches and small edge dings, and some staining. The brass hardware appears to be lightly tarnished and in good working condition. The blade is about 98% straight, very near perfect cutting condtion, very sharp, with light staining, not rusty or rust damage, no missing teeth, about 98% sharpness. A very good quality saw from the early 1900's era. A nice clean old saw in good, useable condition, with the thumb hole handle for two handed sawing!
