Henry Disston Rip Hand-Saw 5 1/2 TPI

This is a very nice 26" long blade, 5-1/2 point (TPI) rip hand-saw marked, "*H.DISSTON & SONS*PHILADA*" on the brass medallion on the handle. As you can see this model also has the nib at the toe end. The etching on the blade is missing as this saw blade was cleaned up several times over the years. The carved handle appears to be that of a model D-12, so since the blade etch is missing we may suggest that this handsaw is a Disstion D-12. The nice clean applewood handle with some wear, solid, not cracked, but has some woodgrain separations as in the photo, tested and holding strong, some small chipped off ears as you can see in the photos, otherwise, just a few minor scratches, dings, and some staining. The brass hardware appears to be shiny and in very good condition. The blade is straight, in good cutting condition, with light staining and minor pitting covering most surfaces, one ding in the blade but at the top away from the teeth where the blade is thinner for clearance, not rusty, no missing teeth, about 95% sharpness. A very good quality saw from the early 1900's era. A nice, clean, old skew back saw in good, useable condition!
