MEASUREMENTS:

Overall length 16.5 cm (6.5 inches).

Width of the base: 5.4 cm (2.13 inches).

NOTE: This horn was made by Ukrainian craftsmen in the Islamic style since the Zaporozhian Cossacks through war and trade contacts with Ottoman Turks and Crimean Tatars used their weapons. However, they also created their own military equipment and costumes in the style of their Turkish and Tatars neighbors.

This gunpowder horn is a typical example of a Cossack product. It is not as fancy as the Islamic gunpowder flasks; it has simple iron mounts and no fancy decorations.
