Antique 16th century (1550-1600. A.D.) German or Swiss infantry, massive Fauchard- Guisarme (Kriegsgertel), Halberd- Polearm head, with a hand-forged iron blade with a spiked beak and a tapering tabular socket.

CONDITION: Shows the age and use, pitted. The edge of the blade is still very sharp.

MEASUREMENTS: Overall length, including socket: 31.5cm (12.4 inches)

1. A very similar Kriegsgertel from the collection of the Museum für Deutsche Geschichte was published in the book "Europäische Hieb-Und Stichwaffen" by Heinrich Müller und Hartmut Kölling, page 262. No 266.
