Antique 17th -18th century Spanish Dagger Stiletto

$700.00
Quantity available: 1

Antique 17th-18th century Spanish dagger stiletto with sturdy, tapered, double-edged steel blade of a diamond cross-section. The hilt is composed of a brass crossguard with shaped down-turned quillons, adorned with a serrated pattern brass pommel of compressed, bulbous form with a prominent flange at the midpoint adorned with a notched swirl decoration.
The grip is clad by two bone scales carved at the base with rings and a notched pattern on both sides. Two iron rivets secure it to the blade's tang.
The brass crossguard with downturned quillons reminds crossguards of the medieval (1232 to 1492) Spanish Moorish Al-Andalus Nasrid swords.

CONDITION: Shows age and use with an old patina. One of the bone scales is cracked.
