Quantity available: 1

An exceptional antique 17th century Spanish Toledo dagger - stiletto with a beautifully and extremely well hand-forged, sturdy, tapered steel blade of a diamond section cut with a central fuller, incised on both sides with the maker's mark. The blade is inserted into a turned brass hilt consisting of a baluster grip, a bulbous pommel, and a rectangular quillon block with knobbed terminals.

The wooden scabbard is bound in dark green velvet trimmed at the middle with finely braided gilt brass flattened wire and mounted with a brass chape and a locket with a frog stud.

CONDITION: In very good original untouched condition for an over 300-year-old stiletto. The blade shows minor black staining. The velvet fabric, originally dark green in the 17th century, is worn and faded to a greenish brown after hundreds of years.
The gold gilding on a flattened braided cord is worn. The hilt and scabbard mounts with minor knocks and scratches.
