Antique rectangular-shaped snuff box made of high-quality German pressed birch bark from 19th century Germany. The flip lid features brass hinges embossed in relief with a scene depicting a drunken man sitting on a well pump spout among the trees while two women keep him company. The upper right of the lid features the motto "Guten Morgen Fritz" (Good Morning Fritz).

The sides of the box are adorned with beautifully crafted leaf scrolls and a delicate rope border, completing the overall aesthetic of the piece.

 

CONDITION: It is in good condition, showing age and use, with a beautiful patina and minor wear.

 

DIMENSIONS: approximately, 11cm x 6 cm x 3.2 cm (4 3/8 in x 2 3/8 in x 1 1/4 in).
