Antique 19th century French Louis XV Rococo Boulle Ormolu Mantel Clock

A fine example of antique, late 19th century, French ‘Boulle’ mantel clock in the Louis XV Rococo style with bronze ormolu mountings by well-known French clock maker L. Marti et Cie. (1867-1889).
The curved wooden ‘Boulle’ veneered case is decorated with cut and engraved brass flowers and tendrils. Incased with finely cast ormolu mounts to the front and sides, standing on the scrolling acanthus feet and surmounted by an elaborate gilded Rococo finial.
The white enamel circular dial is painted with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minute’s, with gilt pierced and engraved hands. The dial is mounted in bronze ormolu, bezel, the convex glass set in hinged bronze ormolu doors.
Eight-day brass movement which strikes on an hours and half-hour, on a steel coil gong.
The movement is signed with stamped round seal: L. Marti et Cie Medaille D'Argent c 1889.
The case hinged back door affix with the lock.
CONDITION: Showing age and usage. Movement in working order, the case with a few minor age cracks and flakes, some crazing on the dial. (as common in these type). In its' original state free of repairs or restorations. Complete with its original pendulum and winding key.
