Antique late 19th century Victorian, exceptional large circular cast and gilt iron shield in the style of the 16th century Italian Milanese Renaissance parade shield.

The shield is of convex circular form, finely cast in high relief with great details with battle scenes with soldiers and knights armed with, falchion's swords, daggers, and spears. The center of the sild is adorned with large boss in the form of the lion head.

The back of the shield is equipped with suspension mounts for hanging on a wall.

CONDITION: It is in very good condition. It shows signs of age with an old patina.

MEASUREMENTS: diameter 54 cm (21.26 inches).
