Antique 19th-century Kashmir Islamic small Qur'an stand (kursi or Rahla/Rehal), featuring a typical folding design with two hinged parts.

It includes lower arched sections, while the top sections have serrated edges. The entire piece is adorned with polychrome floral sprays and raised gilt lacquer arabesques.

 

MEASUREMENTS:

Overall length (open): 22.5 cm (8.86 inches).

Height: 15 cm (5.91 inches).

Width: 10.5 cm (4.13 inches).

 

CONDITION: There are signs of age and usage, with slight wear on the lacquer polychrome and a dark patina. However, considering its age of 150 years, the stand is in good condition.
