Antique Museum Quality Indian ceramic jar and cover from the late 19th century, circa 1880, made by the Jeypore School of Art. The jar features a baluster form on a flared base, topped with a domed cover that has a mushroom-shaped finial. It is delicately hand-painted in cobalt blue and turquoise on a white background, all under a rich, thick, clear glaze. The design includes four oval panels, two beautifully decorated with large and small flowers and a perching bird on leafy branches.

The two additional panels feature painted leafy branches and small flowers, surrounded by more leaves and flowers. The related jar is part of the Victoria and Albert Museum collection in London, England. Please see the links below:

CONDITION: The item shows signs of age and use but has been in good condition for over 140 years old ceramic. There are no cracks, restorations, or repairs. There are small chips at the rim of the mouth and the base, one fine chip on the cover, and two chips—one on the finial and another on the rim.
