Old military canteen.  

It is stamped on both sides:

"LANDERS FRARY & CLARK
MADE IN U.S.A.
UNIVERSAL
PAT. DEC. 11 1923
NEW BRITAIN CONN. U.S.A."
 It measures approximately 9" by 9" by 1.5", and stands tall and round. The cap is held on by metal chain which needs to be reconnected.

There are a few dents and dings and scratches, but overall it is in great condition for it's age.
