Terrific picture tile from the series designed by Walter Crane, "A Baby's Opera", c. 1880-1890. Here is "Jack & Jill" from the Mosaic Tile Company, Zanesville, OH, with the Mosaic lozenge on the back of the tile. The tile is transfer printed in a warmly colored palette and covered in a soft satin glaze. It is in excellent condition with light edge wear at top and rubbing to lower right corner as shown.
