Antique Chinese cast bronze and hand-chiseled incense burner censer, signed with a seal mark in zhuanshu scripts, 18th -19th century, Qing dynasty.

The body of the censer is in the form of an elegant bombé vessel set with twin handles and four legs in the form of bamboo branches.

Two sides are decorated with rectangular panels hand-chiseled in a low relief on a punched background; one panel with a horned deer next to a tree, the other panel with a bird and a tree.

The censer base is bearing a seal mark in zhuanshu script within a rectangular cartouche.

The censer legs are cast separately and affixed with screws ( see interior photo).

 

CONDITION: It is in good condition considering its age, showing age and use, with old patina.

Width: 21 cm (8.3 inches).

Height: 14 cm (5.5 inches).

Weight: 1.7 kg (3.8 lb.).
