Antique Chinese late Qing Dynasty Rare black Yixing large teapot and cover of tapering ovoid form set with an S-shaped pewter spout emerging from a pewter plaque shaped in the form of the frog adorned with pierced auspicious symbols, with two pewter bail handles attached by the iron rings to the bulging posts on shoulder which the front one is made of pewter.

The pierced cover stamped with two double gourd seals, a square shop seal with 'Yufeng' in both Chinese and Manchurian on the base, and a two-character seal on the back shoulder.

In traditional Chinese religion, the swastika (卍/卐/萬, wàn) represents the totality of beings emanated and regulated by Taiyi (太一), the “Great One”. It is also called Tianmen (天門, “Gate of Heaven”), or Tianshu (天樞, “Pivot of Heaven”).

Width including spout: 23 cm (9.06 inches).

Height: 16 cm (6.3 inches).

CONDITION: In very good condition. No cracks, chips, or repairs.
