$2,800.00
Or Best OfferThis is an antique miniature portrait painting of Stanisław I (Stanislaus) Leszczyński, who was twice King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania,
and at various times, Prince of Deux-Ponts, Duke of Bar, and Duke of Lorraine.
This exquisite painting is a work of art from the 18th century, believed to have been created circa 1750. It is an oval-shaped natural wafer, meticulously hand-painted using gouache, a type of watercolor paint. The painting depicts a king, who is portrayed with utmost attention to detail and precision. The king is shown wearing armor that is decorated with intricate gold ornaments. A white cravat can be seen around his neck, which adds to his regal appearance. The crimson lining of the armor is adorned with delicate, white lace flowers, which adds a touch of elegance to the already magnificent piece of art.
This rare miniature is housed in a gilded copper frame from the same period, around 1750.
CONDITION: The miniature portrait is in good condition and has not been repainted. However, the back of the frame is missing, and there are some irregular gaps between the edges of the painting and the frame. The miniature was likely originally displayed with a narrow, oval-shaped mat made of gilded copper, fabric, or cardboard. The glass covering the painting is a later replacement and was unprofessionally cut to fit the shape of the frame.
