An antique 19th-century French Napoleonic miniature portrait of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte finely hand-painted in gouache on a natural wafer.
The painting depicts Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte in his iconic stance, with his hand in his vest, dressed in his renowned uniform as the Colonel of Chasseurs Cheval de la Garde Imperia, and a sword at his side. The artist has signed the painting illegibly at the lower left.
The miniature is mounted in an oval-shaped, elaborate bronze inner frame with original convex glass and housed in a rectangular frame with brass suspension mounts lined with paper at the back.

DIMENSIONS:
Size of the rectangular frame: 10 x 9 cm (3.94 x 3.54 inches).
The oval brass frame's dimensions are 6.7 x 5.5 cm (2.64 x 2.17 inches).

CONDITION: The painting is in very good condition, with no restorations or repairs. The rectangular frame shows an old white paint touch-up on one side.
