Monumental antique 19th century North India Haryana Indian terracotta pottery large Ring jug ,signed by artist. ornate flattened Ring shepherd body resting on trumpet base and surmounted by central curved handle flanked by two sports which one is finely sculptured in the form of the lion head
Each side of the body is elaborately decorated with a fully blossomed lotus flower and floral and geometrical motifs and signed on the middle of the ring body in Indian script “ Haryana Jaihind”.
The history of terracotta Art in Haryana dating back millennia to the Harappan and Indus Valley civilizations 3300 B.C to 1300 B.C and over centuries became an important Indian Terracotta art center .

It is very rare to find a large Haryana terracotta vessels in good condition. This is partly because of the fragility of the material as baked clay.
