A very good quality antique 18th century, Mughal India, large Indo Persian, North Indian, Islamic dagger Pesh kabz, Karud . Straight, sturdy single-edged steel blade of "T" shape cross-section, tapering gradually from the hilt to the point, with a wide rib at the back engraved with scrolls.
Both sides of the forte chiselled with an elaborate design of arabesques within shaped panel. A robust hilt consisted of two bone grip scales, secured to the blade's tang by three iron rivets and enclosed by copper straps and the bolster, bird- head shaped, pommel affix with a finial for the tassel.
Wooden scabbard bound in hand-stitched leather fitted with elaborately shaped copper locket and a brass chape with turban finial.

CONDITION: In good condition overall. Split on the join of the copper straps near the pommel, the blade slightly pitted.
