Antique late 19th century Islamic Southeast Asian Indonesian Malay Sultanate of Brunei an Impressive Large Cast Brass Betel (Sirih) container with cover. Cast using the 'lost wax' process, this fine example is of 'baluster' form and rests upon an integral ornate circular foot. The surface is finished with a lattice of interlocking decorative panels - each element cast in high relief. The decoration incorporates many traditional elements and motifs. bound with braided rattan braided rattan collar and carrying handle.

CONDITION: In very good, original, untouched condition, for over 100 years old. It shows signs of age and use. No cracks ,dents, repairs or restorations. featuring a dark brown and green natural patina.
Since the pictures were taken in the studio lighting, container in daylight is darker and not as glitter as the photos.
