Antique 1920 to 1935 Italian Renaissance Revival glazed ‘Sgraffito' pottery wine pitcher. A well-potted baluster shaped body raised on a splayed foot with a concave base, with a tall flaring neck and shaped spout, applied curved handle; exterior decorated with carved and incised floral and checkered design highlighted with yellow, green, cream, brown and green splash glaze. Signed on the bottom with incised SCAP (Società Ceramica Artistica Pisana) mark.

This is the registered trademark of SCAP (Società Ceramica Artistica Pisana) which has remained active in Pisa from 1920 to 1935. You can find more information on the book "La Ceramica in Pisa between the nineteenth and twentieth century" of the ETS publishing house in Pisa Giuseppe.
