Our client's wonderful bronze sculpture Arabian water carrier sculpture in patinated bronze, dated 1888 and marked Paris, and signed Koenig, is a exceptionally rare bronze casting by the co-founder of Koenig and Lengsfeld of Cologne. The firm is widely known for their polychrome terracotta figures, often in the Orientalist style, but did not cast works in bronze. This figure was also produced in terracotta, but this is the only example we have seen in bronze.
