Superb quality antique 19th century Renaissance revival Hungarian gold gilt solid silver jeweled cross pendant. Fitted in its original hand carved wooden presentation box in light brown tooled leather binding with the interior lined in purple silk velvet and affix with hinge and push button closure lock.
This stunning cross pendant is made of solid silver in openwork design. It has been gilded with gold and embellished with 52 natural turquoise cabochons stones, 14 faceted small garnet stones 1 central natural pearl and 4 faceted larger natural garnet stones. The loop is fitted with a suspension ring set with natural turquoise stone.
The reverse of the cross is finely pierced and engraved in open work with intricate scrolling pattern.
Although there are no marks, the item has undergone an acid test and is guaranteed to be at least 800-850 purity silver.
CONDITION: Age and use are showing. It is in excellent condition for its age. Free of repairs or restorations.
