Antique sterling Snake necklace bracelet headband Coiled serpent

 

This is a most unusual antique ( 1900-1920) piece that could either be a necklace (choker) bracelet or headband. It is semi uncoiled so I am not sure what its original intent was, but it could easily be bent by a jewelry into one of the three pieces I mentioned. The way it is now, it is too long for an upper arm band and just a little to small for a choker. You could make this into a three coil bracelet by having it bent more.. or straightened a bit to make the necklace or headband. None of the choices will compromise it. The total length is 12 1/2" from end to end. Notice the ornate work on the whole band. This is a hand wrought victorian piece that is a real treasure.
