Antique Thai mother-of-pearl inlaid lacquer Buddhist altar offering tray Thailand, late 19th century.

This exquisite two-tiered tray features an octagonal shape with elegantly designed legs. The exterior is beautifully inlaid with a variety of traditional Thai motifs made from mother-of-pearl, set against a rich black lacquer background. The interior showcases a simple yet striking cinnabar-red lacquer finish.

 

This type of footed offering tray was used to hold offerings on a home Buddhist altar.

 

CONDITION: The item is in very good condition, with all the mother-of-pearl inlay intact.

 

MEASUREMENTS: Diameter: 22 cm x 13.7 (8.66 inches x 5.39 inches). Height: 6 cm (2.36 inches).
